Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the US and in Washington state has continued the trend of double-digit annual growth in recent years. With a 40-year local history there are over 12,000 Washington members of US Lacrosse (USL). Lacrosse is played at all levels from youth through post collegiate club leagues. There is lacrosse available state-wide, but primary participation continues to center around the Seattle metropolitan area stretching in all directions. Other areas with strong and growing programs include the Tri-Cities (Southeast Washington), Wenatchee, Spokane, Bellingham, Everett, Tacoma, and Vancouver.
Your State chapter (a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization) supports the development, growth, and integrity of the game of lacrosse in the State. The organization has hosted coaching conventions, education and training sessions for coaches, and special events such as the Seatown Classic and until 2015 was the producer of the state HS Championships each year in May. In recent years, the respective governing bodies for boys and girls high school lacrosse have taken over production of the Championships.
The Chapter Board meets bi-monthly and its meetings are open to all members of US Lacrosse. The meeting agendas will include a few minutes at the beginning of each meeting for constituent groups to provide comments to the Board on matters which are important to each group and on which the Chapter may be able to collaborate and engage to serve the local lacrosse community. The Board meeting dates, time and location will be posted to the Chapter website as far in advance as possible.
